What is the Kia Kima 2020 Experience?
The Kia Kima 2020 Experience is a whole new way to experience camp! We are thrilled to offer numerous, ongoing opportunities for Scouts and Cub Scouts throughout the summer of 2020. The Kia Kima 2020 Experience offers self-paced guides for Scouts and Cub Scouts to complete merit badges, rank advancements, and adventures; live virtual sessions; limited, regulated in-person opportunities in the Mid-South area; and more! We have also taken our camp newsletter, The Daily Thunderbird, virtual; you can keep up with all the Kia Kima 2020 Experience fun by subscribing here.
How is the Kia Kima 2020 Experience different from other virtual programs?
While there are many similarities between the Kia Kima 2020 Experience and some of the other programs offered throughout the country (advancement and enrichment opportunities, virtual offerings, self-paced options, some in-person opportunities in the Mid-South area, etc.), the Kia Kima 2020 Experience is being offered at no required cost! While there are some badges and in-person opportunities for which there will be a small charge (to cover program materials and staffing), Scouts are welcome to participate in our programs at no cost. We do have merchandise available to purchase in our Trading Post, and donations are appreciated.
We know that the current environment has resulted in difficult financial situations for many families, so if your Scout(s) needs any financial assistance to participate in any of our programs with fees, please contact Johnny Tracy, Chickasaw Council Program Director, at 901-425-2217 or john.tracy@scouting.org. Every Scout deserves a fantastic summer experience!

What is the program structure?
Scouts are welcome to participate in any adventure, advancement, or merit badge programs they wish throughout the summer. Scouts and families can choose to participate in as few or as many opportunities as they wish over any span of time. This structure provides flexibility to participate in the Kia Kima 2020 Experience for a day, a week, a month, or the whole summer; it is up to you! Self-paced programs can be worked at any time, but Scouts will need to R.S.V.P. for virtual meetings and in-person activities.
How do I participate?
Participating in the Kia Kima 2020 Experience is easy and fun! The most important thing to do is sign up for The Daily Thunderbird, our summer e-mail newsletter, which will include daily skits, songs, contests, and information about upcoming programming. You can also check the Scouts BSA Program and Cub Scouts Program page regularly!
